The MULTI-APP control box is the core of the LEADER MULTISEARCH system. VERSATILE: The MULTI-APP box can be connected alternately to 5 interchangeable USAR search devices. This makes it possible to connect the right device at the right time based on operational needs in the field! This dramatically increases the efficiency of teams during urban search and rescue operations! Rescuers-clearance teams therefore no longer need to transport several often bulky devices! In addition, one rescuer will be able to use the various devices. Given that the devices all connect to the same control box, they therefore all use the same navigation interface. Therefore the rescuer doesn't need to take several training courses in different equipment! 4-IN-1 FEATURES: UWB movement detection + seismic detection + visual victim location + thermal victim location!

This USAR comprises: - 1 Ultra-Wide Band UWB radar scanner (SCAN) to detect and locate movements through debris, - 3 wireless seismic sensors (SEARCH) to detect vibrations caused by a buried person (knocks, shouts, scratching, etc.), - 1 colour victim location camera (CAM) used in visual searching for living people buried under rubble, - 1 thermal imaging camera (TIC) to detect the heat given off from living victims' bodies. The LEADER MULTISEARCH 8 is USAR victim location search device equipped with a MULTI-APPLICATION box enabling 5 LEADER search devices to be used: CAM, TIC, SEARCH, SCAN, RD90! The SCAN radar device is Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and uses UWB technology. UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) technology consists of sending electromagnetic waves through debris to detect variations in movements under wreckage. In this way it probes the surface of rubble to search for movements of buried victims up to a distance of 30 m unobstructed. It detects movements through 50 cm of concrete, but also through other materials such as wood, roof tiles, glass, bricks, plastics and more. The 3 wireless seismic detectors (SEARCH) use seismic technology. These are wave receivers. When a person moves, scratches, shouts, taps, etc., they create vibrations that resonate and travel in the various construction materials of the collapsed building and the control box amplifies them. In this way the rescuer can 'listen' using an audio headset and 'observe' the audio signal using bar graphs on the control box. Seismic sensors detect the vibrations (waves) emitted by a person trapped under the rubble with an unobstructed range of 100 m! In this way they enable living victims to be located geographically under wreckage. UWB technology and seismic technology are fully complementary! Indeed, the two technologies both confirm the presence of victims. In addition, depending on field constraints, sometimes one will be better suited and sometimes the other. The colour search camera (CAM) is used in visual searches for victims buried under wreckage. Fitted with an integrated communication system, it also enables communication with victims to assess their need for assistance and rescue. Attached to a telescopic pole, it is used to reach confined spaces, whether at height or depth. The thermal imaging search camera (TIC) enables hotspots to be detected to locate the body of a living person even more quickly in a dark, dusty or smoke-filled space. With its two detachable camera heads, the MULTISEARCH 8 kit enables a living body to be located using the thermal camera (identification of a heat source), which makes it possible to confirm that it really is a victim by connecting the colour search camera. Conversely, if the operator is using the colour camera (CAM), but the environment is too dark, dusty or smoky, the thermal imaging camera (TIC) will enable the rescuer to confirm that it really is a victim using the thermal image. The control box and navigation interface have been specifically designed for colour and thermal visual searches for buried victims! The MULTI-APPLICATION box makes it possible to switch very easily and quickly from one device to another.

An upgradeable search device!

The MULTI-APP box makes this kit upgradeable! It is now possible to combine movement detection (UWB radar sensor = SCAN device), seismic detection (listening equipment fitted with 3 seismic sensors = SEARCH device) and visual location using the colour search camera (= CAM device) and the thermal imaging search camera (= TIC device) enabling visual location of buried victims. However, it is possible to upgrade this kit at a later date by adding: - the camera head waterproof to 90 m (RD90 device).

Backpacks designed for USAR rescuers!

The LEADER MULTISEARCH MS 8 kit is stored in 2 operational backpacks to transport search devices easily and rapidly to the hard-to-reach search area. These two backpacks are themselves placed in 2 sturdy waterproof cases to overcome field storage and transport constraints.

The LEADER MULTISEARCH 8 is a victim location device designed for specialised urban search and rescue-clearance teams.

The LEADER MULTISEARCH is the only USAR victim location device in the world combining a MULTI-APP control box making it possible to interface/connect the following 5 devices:
- UWB radar movement detector (SCAN): detects movements of victims under wreckage,
- seismic sensors (SEARCH): detect the vibrations generated by people under wreckage (shouts, scratching, knocks, etc.),
- a colour search camera (CAM): visually locates victims,
- thermal imaging search camera (TIC): detects heat sources for thermal searches for victims buried also in dark and/or dusty environments,
- and an optional camera, waterproof to 90 m (RD90), can also be connected: for explorations at great depths.

SCAN DEVICE: UWB RADAR/STURDY, ULTRA-PRECISE MOVEMENT DETECTOR
SCAN UWB ground penetrating radar uses SCAN Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology.
The UWB radar is a transmitter/receiver equipped with an ultra-sensitive UWB sensor producing electromagnetic waves that can pass through construction materials.
It can probe through 50 cm of dense concrete or any other construction material such as bricks, asphalt, sand, wood, floor tiles, roof tiles, plastic, plaster and glass. (Note that electromagnetic waves cannot pass through metal surfaces, damp surfaces (clay), or water).
This scans the surface of debris looking for movements of living victims (conscious or unconscious) up to 30 m unobstructed and indicates in real-time the precise depth at which the victim is located.
Ultra-sensitive and precise, UWB technology makes it possible to detect:
- strong movements (e.g. arm movements) up to 30 m unobstructed
- and weak movements (e.g. breathing movements) up to 10 m unobstructed.
The radar device is stored in a waterproof, shockproof, compact and lightweight case to facilitate search operations in hard-to-reach confined spaces. It has a Lithium-Ion battery with 4 hours running time.
To aid use in the field, it can operate by WiFi (alternative if interference: a USB cable can be connected).

SEARCH DEVICE: ULTRA-SENSITIVE SEISMIC SENSORS DESIGNED FOR THE FIELD
SEARCH seismic sensors, also called 'seismic listening equipment', are ultra-sensitive, offering unrivalled sound quality to search and rescue specialists.
The LEADER MULTISEARCH 8 victim detector has 3 wireless seismic sensors with an unobstructed range of 100 m due to their aerial providing optimum connectivity!
Compared to cabled sensors, the wireless seismic sensors are very simple to use. So there are actually no cables to go and loosen in the rubble!
Lightweight and compact, they can be stored easily in a pocket.

CAM PERIPHERAL: A COLOUR SEARCH CAMERA HEAD
The CAM colour search camera enables visual searching for victims trapped in confined spaces. Fitted with a microphone/loudspeaker, it is possible to talk to the victim to assess the threat to their life.
It is waterproof, swivels and is equipped with LED lights to identify victims more easily in the dark. Attached to an ultra-light carbon fibre telescopic pole, it can reach inaccessible areas up to 2.4 m away once extended (4 m option available).

TIC PERIPHERAL: A THERMAL IMAGING SEARCH CAMERA HEAD
Thermal searching makes it possible to detect a heat source quickly, even if the environment is very dark, dusty or smoky. The camera head detects heat between 0°C and 120°C. A living victim will therefore be visible even if covered with dust or hidden behind foliage.

UPGRADEABLE KIT
The MULTI-APP control box makes this USAR kit upgradeable!
This box can also be connected to:
- the optional RD90 search camera, waterproof to 90 m (RD90 device) for explorations at great depths. The optional RD90 colour camera, waterproof to 90 m and fitted with a 90 m cable wound on a reel enables exploration at great depth. The fixed head is fitted with LED lights and does not swivel. A 90 m extension lead allows it to be lowered down to 180 m.
