USE OF SENTRY AND WASP ON CRANE COLLAPSE

The Santiago Fire Department (CBS - Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago) did a very complex rescue when a crane collapsed on a group of houses in the Municipality of Independencia (Santiago de Chile) on December 14 latest.
The incident left three people injured and a woman was trapped under the rubble for more than three hours before being rescued by firefighters.
During this very complex and technical rescue, the rescuers used the following LEADER firefighting and protection equipment:
- LEADER WASP - sensor for monitoring unstable structures, in order to detect vibrations and crane movements;
- LEADER SENTRY - rangefinder for monitoring unstable structures, to monitor unstable structures (walls, roof, etc.) threatening to collapse on rescue teams and victims.
- LEADER TIC - Infrared thermal camera to detect and locate victims in the rubble.
- LEADER CAM - Victim search camera to detect and locate victims in the rubble.
