TRAINING ON FIRE FIGHTING THERMAL IMAGING CAMERAS AT THE SDIS 85

On the 24th of October 2023, LEADER, a supplier of firefighting equipment, organised a training course for around ten firefighters from SDIS 85. This training was organised following the acquisition of 16 SEEK fire fighting thermal imaging cameras in 2023 and around twenty LEADER TIC3.3V fire fighting thermal imaging cameras already in service in previous years.

THE FIREFIGHTERS PRESENT TOOK PART IN A TWO-PART TRAINING COURSE:

1) INTERPRETATION OF THERMAL IMAGES IN USE:

Interpreting thermal images in an emergency situation is a fundamental skill that every firefighter needs to master. Often neglected, this training is essential. Fire fighting thermal imaging cameras are all too often under-used, because many users do not fully exploit their potential. Firefighters are therefore introduced to this technique as part of their training.
